I am speaking at the European Cultural Foundation, in Amsterdam this coming week, at a festival of discussion, debate and artistic practice, on the future of Europe. I am on a panel together with Farid Tabarki, Peter Vermeersch, and Juan Freire.
We will discuss the following:
We are living in dynamic times for Europe and its public space. Ideas travel fast and turn into movements at equal speed. From the Indignados movement in Spain to the Occupy movement, are we seeing the green shoots of a new grassroots European discourse? What role can artists and cultural actors play in such new forms of civic participation?
